Kentucky Film Office

The Kentucky Film Office is responsible for marketing the state to the film, television, and advertising industries. The office has provided a wide range of services to facilitate film companies business here, and through a rigorous advertising campaign has continued to increase Kentucky's share of the lucrative production market.

It is the responsibility of the film office to monitor any production, to which the office provides service, for the protection of Kentucky residents. The goal, then, is to provide producers with as smooth a shoot as possible, while insuring that Kentuckians reap the benefits of the production.

Mission Statement

• Establishment of an aggressive promotional and informational effort designed to attract producers from this country and abroad to Kentucky.
• Coordination of locational activities in Kentucky.
• Serve as liaison during actual film production.
• Perform all appropriate research and background work related to determination of film industry plans and requirements.
• Develop and nourish in-state talent and technical support personnel and companies to enhance Kentucky's film-related infrastructure.
• Educate citizens of the Commonwealth on the benefits of film production.
