It's impossible to list all of Kentucky's great locations, but that's one reason the Office of Film Promotion is there, to help you find what you've been looking for.

In addition to diverse locations, Kentucky has four distinct seasons and a temperate climate. January is the coldest month and July is the warmest.

Kentucky boasts a solid crew and equipment base as well. Our hotels, motels and caterers provide professional support services.

The state also has a sales tax rebate program which refunds the 6% sales and use tax to eligible motion picture and television producers.

A production is eligible for the refund if it is a feature-length motion picture intended for theatrical release or for exhibition on national television by a network or through national syndication, or a television program which will serve as a pilot for or be a segment of an ongoing dramatic or situational comedy series televised on a network or through national syndication.

It's as easy as filling out a one-page registration form, keeping track of qualified expenditures and returning a one-page refund application accompanied by an expenditure report within 60 days after the completion of filming.

For more details about this program and other advantages to filming in Kentucky, call or write the Kentucky Office of Film Promotion.
